The Pella softball team lost a pair of close contests to No. 11 in 4A Norwalk at home Monday, falling 4-2 and 4-1. A pair of 4-0 deficits were too much to overcome for the Lady Dutch, even though the Warriors only scored in three of 14 innings and had 13 hits on the night. Maddie Parks pitched all 14 innings, giving up six earned runs and striking out 11. Alizabeth Van Dusseldorp had two RBI in game one, and Elly Cairney drove in the lone tally in game two. Tonight is Little League night for the Lady Dutch as welcome North Mahaska. Head Coach Teresa Thompson says all youth wearing their jerseys will be honored before the game and met the varsity players after. Varsity will play first at 6 p.m.
