Knoxville defeated PCM in softball last night 10-7 and it was Alex Griggs’ grand slam in the fourth innings that provided the difference. Griggs went 3/4 on the night with four RBI. Knoxville trailed PCM going into the fourth inning 5-2, and plated seven runs to turn the tide in the game. Knoxville Coach Coy Hupfeld told KRLS Sports after the Mustangs took the lead in the bottom of the third, he was glad to see his team fight back. PCM Coach Shaun Hudnut told KRLS Sports the big fourth innings was a turning point. Ashlyn Finarty went the distance in getting the win with four strikeouts. And helping her cause by crushing a home run in the fourth inning. Paige Steenhoek took the loss for the Mustangs. At the plate, Riley Johannes was 2/3 with two RBI.
