An Attica man was killed Sunday after the motorcycle he was riding left the roadway. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, just before 7 pm Sunday, first responders were called to a report of a personal injury motorcycle accident in the 2400 block of Hwy. 5, near the Marion and Monroe County line. Upon arrival officers found a 2001 Harley Davidson that had been operated by 41-year-old Keven Lee Van Polen of Attica had left the roadway.  According to the sheriff’s office, Van Polen was traveling northbound on Hwy. 5 at a high rate of speed. As the motorcycle was negotiating a curve it left the roadway and VanPolen was thrown from the motorcycle and entered the east ditch. VanPolen sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
