The Des Moines Metro Opera held a ribbon cutting and open house ceremony Sunday evening, celebrating the opening of their newly renovated headquarters at the Carnegie Library Building. General and Artistic Director of the DMMO Michael Egel tells KNIA News the support from the community is overwhelming.

“This is a marvelous fusion of energies between the Des Moines and Indianola communities to renovate this treasure and to have people be so interested in it. We have had people over the last several nights, and even Sunday on a hot summer night people ventured over to see our local treasure.”

Egel also said for those who want to know more about the opera or are interested in attending a performance, to contact the new headquarters.
