Both Melcher-Dallas Softball and baseball Squads played a rare day/night double headers with two different opponents as the Softball Squad swept its games 17-1 over Moulton-Udell and 15-0 over Mormon Trail. In game one, the Saints got it done quickly with 11 runs in the first inning highlighted by the hitting of Kynser Reed, who had five RBIs and Gracie Mann, who went 3/3 four RBI. In game two, it was just as easy as Emilie Krpan threw a three inning one hit shut out. 14 of Melcher-Dallas’s 15 runs were scored in the second inning. On the baseball diamond across town, the Saints split their day/night twin bill as they defeated Moulton-Udell 6-2. Ryan Krpan pitched five innings with nine strikeouts and limited the Eagles to just two hits. The Saints fell in the second game to Mormon Trail 14-1. Both softball and baseball squads will get the rest of the week off.
