Brady Bacon has turned countless laps at the Knoxville Raceway and he has succeeded in most disciplines of midgets to sprints. Last night he took night one of the Inaugural Corn Belt Nationals battling Chris Windom to the line. Windom, Kevin Thomas Jr, and Bacon waged a three car battle for most of the race trading the lead back and forth. Finally Bacon was able to gap Windom for a few laps, and that may have been what he needed as Windom caught up to him on the white flag lap, but was unable to get by. Bacon told KRLS Sports he was trying various areas of the track to see what would be the quickest way around. Windom stetted for second with Thomas in third. Bacon has set himself up for tonight’s finale as he is the top points getter with 492. In the 360 show, Wayne Johnson passed Terry McCarl on the final lap to take his first Knoxville win over nearly two years. Tonight the Corn Belt Nationals finals and a weekly 410 show.
