The Pella softball team bounced back from Friday’s tough doubleheader sweep by the hands of Pella Christian with a sweep of Grinnell Saturday, winning 5-2 and 9-8.

In game one, the teams picked up the action after the rain stopped it in game one Wednesday. The Tigers had a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning, but Pella struck twice in the fourth and three times in the sixth to complete the comeback.

Brynnlin Kroymann had two runs-batted-in, while Courtney Thompson and Alizabeth Van Dusseldorp each had one. Maddie Parks earned the win, giving up one earned run and striking out seven in a complete game.

The Lady Dutch walked off the winners in game two, scoring three times in the bottom of the 7th to complete the comeback with a pair of outs. Pella took a 5-0 lead, only for Grinnell to score 8 from the 3rd through 6th innings. Alizabeth Van Dusseldorp hit the walk-off single with two outs after Elly Cairney tied the game with a two-run double. Cairney finished the game 3-for4 with four RBI, and Kroymann knocked in three runs.

Pella bounces back to 13-16 overall and 5-14 in the conference; they will host Oskaloosa for two games Monday night in the regular season finale.
