The Knoxville Softball Squad will finish out the South Central portion of the season with a trip to Davis County tonight. The Panthers have already clinched second place in the conference behind champion Albia. Knoxville while being led on and off the field by two seniors, have had a lot of help from the eighth grade class on the team. Ashlyn Finarty has been the number one pitcher all season. Emma Dunkin has shown her bat and defensive skills, and there have been a tandem at catcher in Melanie Sullivan and Lannie Hamilton. Coach Coy Hupfeld says having to play a lot of eighth graders, one never knows what to expect, but Hupfeld adds this class has a lot of talent. This is the final regular season game for he Panthers, who will take on Gilbert in the 4A regional on Thursday.
