Both the Pella High baseball and softball teams were swept by Oskaloosa in Little Hawkeye Conference action last night.

The Indians jumped on the Little Dutch in both ends of the baseball twinbill, landing a 12-1 five-inning knockout in game one, and securing an 8-2 decision in the nightcap.

The highlight for Pella was four-and-a-third innings of shutout relief from Mason Wittmer in game two.  He allowed just three hits and struck out four. Ryan Mace was the only Little Dutch hitter to collect multiple hits on the evening, singling in each game.

Pella falls to 9-19 on the season and 6-13 in league play.  They’ll step out of the conference tomorrow night when they travel to Ballard.

In softball, Osky swept the Lady Dutch 3-1, 5-2 in the final regular season games for Pella.  The Lady Dutch finish the 2019 campaign at 13-18, 5-16 in the LHC. They’ll open the postseason Thursday night at Winterset in a game you can hear live on 92.1 KRLS.
