The Pella City Council will take the next step in development of a potential municipal telecommunications utility at their meeting this evening. A special work session will be held to review details about a business plan drafted by Farr Technologies and other consultants to bring a high-speed internet, cable TV, and phone service owned and operated by the city to the community. The first step was taken in May of 2018, when more than 90 percent of voters in Pella allowed the council to pursue a potential utility. The first vote will be held to hire an engineer for the project, and the work session will give more details to council before they vote. This evening’s meeting begins at 6:00 and is open to the public.
