The road to what the Twin Cedars Softball Squad hopes is a deep run into the regional starts tonight with a game against Baxter in the second round. The Sabers received a bye and will host Baxter tonight at Twin Cedars. The Sabers come in at 28-8 and have lost their last four games, which were against class 2A or larger schools. Baxter is 12-11 on the season and sports a 295 batting average and has two hitters with over 400 batting average. The Bolts pitching staff has an ERA of 5.19 and has struck out 74 batters. Compare that to the Sabers with a 341 team batting average and a team ERA of 2.45 and Grace Bailey and Ali Mockenhaupt have combined for 135 strikeouts. Tonight’s game is scheduled to start at seven. The winner gets the survivor of the Melcher-Dallas and Moravia game on Friday.
