The Eagles are hoping to play spoiler again in the Class 2A Regional Softball finals this evening as they make the long trek to face No. 14 Ogden. Pella Christian beat No. 6 Pleasantville 4-2 on Wednesday to advance, while the Bulldogs cruised by I-35 8-0 at home. Ogden is 23-7 on the year with a .353 team average. Pella Christian will try to keep their bats going against Denali Loecker, who might be the best individual player in Class 2A — the future Iowa Hawkeye has 178 strikeouts in 138 ⅓ innings with a 19-5 record and 1.42 ERA. More impressive, the junior has hit 20 home runs in 68 at bats, with a .632 average and 52 runs batted in in 30 games played.
