Dozens of pilots are converging on Lake Red Rock for the 9th annual Red Rock Balloonfest this weekend. Jill Vandevoort with the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau says the goal is for the balloons to soar over North Overlook Beach during four scheduled launches, the first of which is this evening. There will also be a wide range of entertainment held on beach, starting today. Stay tuned to 92.1 KRLS for updates relating to the 9th annual Red Rock Balloonfest.

-8:00am: 5K & 10K FUNdraiser Run/Walk

-Kid’s activities/crafts on the beach

-5:30pm: 50th Celebration announcements made by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Cake served on the beach in celebration of Lake Red Rock’s 50th Anniversary
-6:00-10:00pm: Live music by Rock Bottom Band
-6:30 pm: Approximate Launch of evening flight
-Glow on the beach, approximately dusk
