The power was on display Saturday evening as the Indianola softball team blew out Dowling Catholic in the semifinal of class 5A regional action 11-1. The Indians got up early 2-0 on a first inning solo home run by Alley May, and another RBI single from Kassie Baker. After Dowling pushed across a run in the third, the Indians answered for four more runs with RBI hits from Emily Chaplin, another from Baker, and a double from Destiny Lewis. Leading 6-1, the Indians had another four run inning in the fourth with a home run from Diamond Mosley, and another RBI single from Baker, before Sammie Becker walked off the Maroons in the bottom of the fifth with a sacrifice fly scoring May. The Indians will now move on to play Southeast Polk, who defeated Cedar Falls 10-4, on Tuesday evening in the Regional Final and a trip to Fort Dodge on the line.
