indianola-3

The Indianola Indians baseball team swept Grinnell in a conference doubleheader 3-0 and 3-2 Wednesday evening, grabbing themselves a second consecutive Little Hawkeye Conference championship in the process. The Indians were a game ahead of Oskaloosa entering the pair of games, and could have finished anywhere from first to third in the overall standings. In game one, the Indians got a two run home run, with Gabe Zwanziger pitching for the win on the mound and Tyce Johnson earning the save. Game two featured another two-run shot, as Grady Haynes hit a ball over the fence, while Dallas Jackson picked up the win and Ethan Ellsworth came in to save the game. After an 0-5 start, the Indians finished their regular season with a 22-14 record and a six game winning streak heading into their class 4A district opening game against Des Moines East tomorrow evening.
