little-hawkeye-conference

The final conference standings are in for the baseball season. Indianola was the Little Hawkeye Conference for the third consecutive season — all three they’ve been in the league. Pella Christian finished 5th by percentage points — .476 to .473 with Grinnell, who didn’t play the final two against Pella, the 7th place team. The Eagles swept the Tigers this season. Pella Christian continues the postseason tomorrow in the Class 2A District 10 finals at West Marshall. Hear the game live on 92.1 KRLS, with first pitch at 7 p.m.

The Class 3A and 4A baseball teams join the race to Principal Park tonight. Pella travels to Oskaloosa to take on Solon in the Class 3A, District 12 opener this evening. Head Coach Jesse Jablonski says while their win-loss record isn’t what they hoped for this season at 11-22, he believes they’ve been competitive with quality teams all season, and it’s all hands on deck tonight as they take on the Spartans. First pitch from Oskaloosa has been pushed back to 6 p.m. due to today’s extreme heat. Pregame coverage will start at 5:45 on 92.1 KRLS, also streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com and the free KRLS mobile app.
