The Pella Police Department and Culver’s in Pella once again partnered together to raise funds for the Special Olympics of Iowa. Butterburgers and Badges was held Tuesday night at the restaurant, with police officers and communications specialists from the Pella PD teaming up with Culver’s to bus tables and deliver food to collect donations. Lt. Paul Haase says the event is a way for their staff to connect with the local community and give back to athletes that inspire so many. According to Pella Culver’s Owner Tim Te Grootenhuis, the event raised $1,580 for the Special Olympics of Iowa.
