North Polk proved to be too much for the Knoxville Baseball Squad last night in a class 3A district opener as the Comets defeated the Panthers in five innings 12-0. North Polk was dominant as starting pitcher Colton Parkinson no hit the Panthers through four innings to get the win. The only hit Knoxville got was in the fifth, a single by Evan Eck. Kaleb Streigle took the loss going one inning. Coach Matt Miller told KRLS Sports pitching struggled to find the strike zone and North Polk made them pay. The Panthers finish the season 12-29, and say good bye not only to two seniors…R.J Roberts and Kaleb Streigle…but also Coach Matt Miller as he will step down to move back closer to family near Independence.
