Today we begin the countdown of the Top 10 sports stories for the 2018-2019 school year at Simpson College with number ten.

Close games would come down to the wire on a American Rivers Conference basketball doubleheader Saturday in a pair of games heard live on KNIA, as Simpson swept Coe on a pair of late baskets. In game one, the Storm and Kohawks were tied at 76 apiece, when sophomore Cameron Kincaid hit a game winning shot with just seconds remaining to give the Storm a big victory. Not to be outdone, the Storm men also had a close game late, tied at 70 going into the final possession. Simpson’s Conor Riordan got a good look off from three point range, but as the ball rimmed out, forward Adam Reiter corralled the rebound and got a putback shot off that fell through the hoop as time expired to give the Storm the victory. The two victories in the final regular season contests of the season gave the Storm momentum heading into the postseason tournament, where they would both pick up an opening round victory.
