indianola-3

Today we continue the countdown of the Top 10 sports stories for the 2018-2019 school year at Indianola High School with number eight. The Indianola boys and girls tennis teams are growing programs, both looking to establish themselves in a tough Little Hawkeye Conference, and perhaps break into the current power structure of Pella and Norwalk at the top. Both Indians squads did just that this year, taking down the Warriors in the final contest of the season with identical 6-5 scorelines. The Indians boys got wins from Colton Miller, Christian Jauron, Ian Smith, and Joe Menke in singles play, and needing the #4 and #5 doubles teams of Tom Krapfl and James Howard, and Matt and Curran Wadle to secure the victory. The Indians girls also used their depth to secure victory, getting wins from Katelyn Thessen, Allison Coffey, and Anna Jordan in singles, with the doubles teams of Melina Darrah and Hannah Price, Payton Belt and Hayden Laschanzky, and Ellie Blosser and Katelyn Thessen to get the win.
