Today is Warren County Day at the National Balloon Classic in Indianola, sponsored by Warren County Economic Development. Tonight will feature a balloon take off at 6:30pm, and also the Nite Glow Extravaganza beginning at dusk. Pilot and board member of the National Balloon Classic Jim Fromm tells KNIA News those who have an interest in taking a ride in a balloon should take advantage of the opportunity.

“There is no more comfortable place for me than in the basket of a balloon, either at 1000 feet or scaling over a treetop and hitting the branches as you go through it. It’s just an amazing experience, and your fear of heights will go away in the first 30 seconds off the ground. It’s just so different than what you might think it would be.”

Tonight’s entertainment includes special opening act Josh Sinclair, and the band B2Wins performing on the main stage. The KNIA Big Red Radio will be on the balloon fields, giving live reports and playing music from 4-6pm.
