We go to the basketball gym for our number seven moment during the 2018/2019 Knoxville academic sports year. Within a span of 11 days, two boys basketball players had career nights scoring over 30 points and leading the Panthers to wins over South Central Conference teams. On December seventh, Knoxville traveled to Chariton and it would be Kieren Nichols’s night as he went off for 37 points in leading the Panthers to a 65-57 win over the Chargers. 11 days later, in a game that the Panthers fell down by double digits early to Centerville, Elliott Schmidt would erupt for 34 points. The Panthers would stage a comeback and win 76-71. Schmidt went 8/11 from long range, grabbed six rebounds and dealt out three assists.
