For the entire length of the program at Knoxville High School, girls soccer was not regarded as one of the top sports in the win/loss column. This past spring may have put that notion to bed as our number four sports story for Knoxville High School is the record setting season the Panthers soccer squad had. The season did not start off like it would be a record setter was the Panthers were 1-3 to start off. However, after that start, Knoxville would not lose until a regional match on May 29th. Between a loss to Nodaway Valley on April 11th and that regional contest against Williamsburg, the Panthers won 13 matches in a row, ten of them being shut outs, and outscored the competition 53-4. The Panthers were led in goals by Emma Dejoode, whose 30 goals were sixth in the state in 1A. The 14 wins the Panthers posted was a team record and for the second straight season, Knoxville swept the South Central Conference.
