Two Pleasantville baseball players and a Pella Christian player received Academic All-State honors from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. Cael Lester was a first team selection and Quintin Berglund was a 2nd team honoree, both Trojans. Will Dembski of the Eagles was 2nd team All-State Academic. Dembski has received several postseason honors, named 1st team All-District by the same group, an All-State selection to KMA’s new team this summer, and 2nd team All State by the Iowa Print Sportswriters Association. The first team consists of the top 23 players, nominated by their coaches, who demonstrate outstanding academic, moral, and athletic characteristics. The next 24 players receive a second team all-academic certificate.
