The Knoxville City Council met in special session Monday to conduct interviews for the vacant city council position. Jerrold Jordan, John Gotta, Mike Conner Jr. and Brian Thomas were the four candidates interested in filling the vacant spot and were all interviewed for approximately 20 minutes each.

Mayor Hatch expressed his thanks to the candidates for their willingness to step forward to help their community, and that the council had a difficult decision to make. After an approximately 15 minute discussion, they chose to appoint John Gotta to the position formally on Monday at the regular council meeting.
