The Knoxville Municipal Airport will be the recipient of $150,000 to be used towards the construction of a new T Hangar at the airport. The money comes from the Iowa Transportation Commission, which approved $7.6 million for the fiscal year 2020 State Aviation Programs. Knoxville Municipal Airport Manager Dan Van Donselaar tells KNIA/KRLS News it means a lot to be able to receive the money. Van Donselaar says the airport has a long waiting list and with the money they will be able to finally get designs and construction started on some much needed hangars. The $150,000 received from the state will be matched by the city to complete the $300,000 hangar project.
