Week One of high school football begins across the state tonight, and the Pleasantville Trojans will begin their campaign against a team they had troubles against last year. Lynnville-Sully shut out the Trojans on their home field 24-0, but the Hawks lost quite a bit of talent from last year’s playoff qualifying team. Head Coach Mack Jorth says that Lynnville-Sully is still a formidable opponent, and his guys will need to be ready to face a team that’s known for its grittiness.

Four of the top seven rushers from last season return to a Pleasantville team that hangs their hat on being an effective rushing team. Some key defenders return to lead the way on the defensive side of the ball as well. The Trojans missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2013, and will begin their quest to get back tonight. Kickoff between the Trojans and Hawks is 7:00 tonight in Sully. Jon Mohwinkle and Ron Danks will broadcast the action on the KNIA3 stream at kniakrls.com.
