The Pleasantville football team improved to 2-0 with a 45-7 win over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in a game heard on the KNIA3 stream. It was the first of six home games this season for the Trojans.

The Rockets started the game just as well as any team could ask for, as Ethan Olivas returned the opening kickoff to the house, and E-B-F took a 7-0 lead. Pleasantville would respond with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Caylor Clark to Bristol Huyck to tie it up. Cale Anthony plunged in from four yards out on the next Pleasantville drive to go up 13-7 after the missed PAT, and the rest was history.

Anthony added three more rushing touchdowns and a pick-six, and Isaac Mann got a one-yard touchdown carry as the Pleasantville defense would shut out the Rockets for the rest of the game. The 35-point rule took effect in the fourth quarter, some reserves got some playing time, and the Trojans cruised to the win. Head Coach Mack Jorth was pleased with his team’s overall performance, particularly with how they were able to bounce back after the opening kickoff.

Pleasantville improves to 2-0 while Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont drops to 1-1. Up next for the Trojans is a Week 3 home contest against Earlham. As always, the game will be streamed live on the KNIA3 stream at kniakrls.com
