A Central College graduate and longtime former Pella resident is helping with relief efforts in the Bahamas after the devastation of Hurricane Dorian. Richmond Schmidt is a professional butler who moved to Florida nearly 15 years ago, and is helping a neighbor of his make trips between Palm Beach and Grand Bahama Island to deliver needed supplies. Schmidt says the devastation is being felt differently among the islands in the Bahamas, with some areas completely destroyed.
