Several topics were addressed at a special Pella City Council work session Tuesday evening. Council received a presentation related to a proposed development agreement with the Pella Kiwanis for the Wonder Spelen miracle playground at Kiwanis Park, which will be addressed at the September 17th regular meeting. They also discussed the Community Center Action Plan, with talks relating to a community survey about if property taxpayers support a bond issue, what types of resources are desired, and what a potential partnership with the school district could look like, as well as needs if the community does not support extensive renovations or upgrades. A West Market Park swing set replacement request and Central Business District parking needs were also addressed. No formal action was taken on these items, but action is expected at future meetings.
