The Pella School Board is gathering input to decide on the future of a potential childcare center. At a work session this week, Superintendent Greg Ebeling says a facilitated discussion focused on several aspects of what would be involved in the potential partnership with businesses and local child care centers. Ebeling says from the input of administrators, potential partners, and the board, he and other district leaders will be gathering information about the legality of the project, how it relates to the district’s mission, what the cost will be, what child care needs will be met with a potential facility, what other communities and schools are doing, and if the community is willing to support the district participating in childcare. Hear more about the latest with the potential project on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.

A statement from Stan Van Wyk, with GenLink, who represents the Pella Corporation shareholder family:
“Ensuring the availability of childcare options is one of the top community initiatives that the Pella Shareholder Family and Pella Corporation are focused on. To continue to attract and retain top talent, it is vital that current and prospective team members have access to adequate childcare. On behalf of the Pella Shareholder Family, I would like to express their commitment to providing assistance to help solve this issue for the community of Pella.”
