The Knoxville Leadership Academy will begin today. Thirteen people will be taking part in the academy which aims to give residents the opportunity to learn more about city departments as well as responsibilities of city officials and the daily workings of City Hall. Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News his hope is participants will learn that the city works with a plan and works with tight parameters that are dictated by the state. Adams says he thinks it will really bring a good perspective for anyone interested in running for council. The academy will be conducted over the next six weeks with a graduation ceremony held during the Knoxville City Council meeting on Monday, October 21st.
