A local rivalry will be featured on the 92.1 KRLS airwaves this evening as Pella Christian and PCM square off in the teams’ final non-district game of the season. A unique twist in this year’s edition of the series brings the teams to Schipper Stadium at Central College as PCM’s home field is still under construction. PCM enters the matchup with a record of 2-1, while Pella Christian is still in search of their first win at 0-3. Mustangs coach Greg Bonnett says that despite the struggles Pella Christian has faced this season, they are not an opponent to be overlooked, and all three phases of the game must be clicking on all cylinders.

Pella Christian has faced some very stiff competition in the non-district slate, including Class 1A’s third-ranked team, Van Meter, and Iowa City Regina, who received votes in this week’s poll. Eagles coach Rich Kacmarynski says that his team must win the battles up front in order to be successful in this game.

The Eagles and Mustangs are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium at Central College in Pella. Jon Mohwinkle and Jeff Lindsay will broadcast the action on 92.1 KRLS and the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30.
