The Indianola football team scored five first quarter touchdowns to take a lead they would never look back from as they took down Des Moines Lincoln 59-14 Friday night to pick up a homecoming victory. The Indians scored first to go up 7-0, but a dropped punt allowed the Railsplitters to even the score at 7-7 in the first. It was all Indianola after that, as they scored 52 unanswered to earn the victory. Kael Kolarik and Chase Ricketts were dominant on the ground for the Indians, with a combined 16 rushes for 193 yards and six touchdowns, as the Indians as a whole scored on every possession of the game except for except when they kneeled down to run out the clock. Head Coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA News the Indians wanted to win their home field back on homecoming, as they haven’t won there since last year against Mason City. The Indians improve to 2-2 on the season, and will start district play next Friday hosting Ottumwa.
