Some of Central Iowa’s best marching bands are coming to Pella High School soon to begin their competition season. The annual Marching Dutch Invitational begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th, with 20 ensembles participating, including Knoxville and PCM in the contest and Pella in exhibition to end the evening. The Marching Dutch remain one of central Iowa’s premiere bands, winning numerous competitions and earning 43 consecutive division I superior ratings at the state contest. Seniors Colby Van Gorp, Grayson Parisee, and Grace Emmert say this event has become a tradition for many, and features ensembles of all sizes performing throughout the late afternoon and evening. Admission at the Marching Dutch Invitational Saturday is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Hear more about this year’s Marching Dutch on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
