Next weekend the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and local businesses will host the first ever Knoxville Octoberfest event. The Octoberfest will be held in conjunction with Knoxville High School Homecoming events on Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th. The weekend will be full of things to do for alumni coming back home as the Knoxville Alumni Association will host their first ever bags tournament as part of the event. The tournament will be held on the square at the Atlantic and Pacific beer garden on Saturday, October 12th and is $20 per team or $25 the day of. Maureen Nichols with the Alumni Association tells KNIA/KRLS News she thinks its great the Knoxville community is doing an Octoberfest event and she says she is happy the Alumni Association could be a part of it and  and hopefully make it bigger for years to come. Local businesses will also hold different events on the square throughout the weekend. The community-wide effort will include live music, food, drinks, store sales, dances, football & more. The Atlantic and Pacific Pub will also host their BBQ for Badges event that weekend as well with all proceeds benefiting Marion County Emergency Services.
