Two local arts instructors are asking for the community’s support of fine arts programming statewide. Pella High School Speech and Drama Teacher Suzi Jones and Vocal Music Teacher Jennifer Gaesser are both part of the Iowa Alliance for Arts Education. Both say a fundraising concert is coming up in Des Moines featuring Tony Award winning Musician John Lloyd Young on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Noce Jazz Club in Des Moines. Young is donating his time, with ticket sale proceeds supporting the Iowa Alliance for Arts Education Mentor program, which pairs experienced teachers with new instructors and coaches of fine arts groups statewide.
