A Pleasantville man was arrested recently following an investigation conducted by Iowa Workforce Development. According to court documents 39-year-old Rodney Nevels of Pleasantville was arrested Saturday after the investigation showed Nevels received $5,839 in overpayment of unemployment compensation after he allegedly provided false information regarding the amount of pay he was receiving on a weekly basis while employed at a local Pleasantville business during the period of August 19th 2018 to December 1st 2018. Per Iowa code a 15% penalty was issued resulting in Nevels now owing approximately $6,714.85 in overpayment compensation. Nevels was arrested and charged with fraudulent practice in the second degree, a class D felony.
