The Pleasantville School Board met in regular session Tuesday. The board approved the hiring of Chuck Sinclair as the Varsity Boys Golf Coach, Jeri Ray as Head Play Director and Melissa Authier as Elementary Special Education Associate. They approved the appointment of DLR Group as the civil engineer design team for the track and stadium remodeling project and tabled a discussion regarding the updated school district safety plan for a closed session meeting during the next Pleasantville School Board meeting. The board approved a fundraiser request from the Pleasantville Booster Club to raise money during the Pink Out football game to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The club will donate all proceeds throughout the game from the Pleasantville Alumni Grill as well as from a bucket that will be passed through the crowd. The board approved a request for modified allowable growth in the amount of $483,095.84 for the special education deficit balance, as well as approved a bid for the high school and junior high school public address system from SCI Communications for $11,029. They also approved the purchase of a new floor scrubber for the district for $7,526 and new doors for the bus barn to be installed by Wayne Dalton Doors for a total of $5,100.
