Local children will have a few opportunities throughout Marion County to trick or treat this Halloween as local communities have announced the dates and times of their annual Beggars’ Night festivities. In the communities of Knoxville, Pleasantville and Melcher-Dallas Beggars’ Night will be held Thursday, October 31st from 6-8pm and in Bussey Beggars’ Night will also be held on Thursday, October 31st but will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Beggar’s night in the Cities of Pella, Monroe, and Prairie City will be on Thursday, October 31st. Kids can trick or treat from 6 to 8 p.m. throughout those communities. Area police departments remind parents to ensure their children will be safe by checking candy before consumption, supervising children as they move from house-to-house, and reminding trick or treaters to use caution before crossing any roadways.
