The month of October is Porktober, a month to celebrate the pork industry and pork related products. Iowa Pork Producers Association Communications Director Dal Grooms tells KNIA News one in nearly 12 working Iowans have a job related to the pork industry, and marks a large part of the Iowa economy. Grooms also said the pork industry is working to find many more new customers, including South Korea and South American countries, so US Pork is still going strong despite the current trade war.
