Pella Christian looks to move to 3-0 in Class 1A District 7 when they head to Colfax-Mingo tonight.

The Tigerhawks have utilized a strong passing game in averaging more than 32 points per game this season, and that’s an area that the Eagle defense has worked hard to improve.  Coach Rich Kacmarynski says that they’ve simplified things for their defensive backs, and made some changes to the front seven that are paying dividends.

“We moved David Wills from our sam linebacker to defensive end to kind of mirror Luke Mulder, and those guys are pretty good.  They’re really coming off the ball and really getting pressure on people. I think you saw that last week against Pleasantville, and hopefully we can get some pressure again tonight.”

Kacmarynski says that with poor weather forecasts and a grass field, he’s tried to help his team understand that anything can happen tonight.  He says that field position will be key, and that they need to minimize turnovers.

Trevor Castle and Larry Hessing will call the action live from Colfax on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:30 and the opening kick at 7:00.
