Knoxville and Pella Christian played at the Knoxville Volleyball Invitational on Saturday with the Eagles winning the consolation bracket and the Panthers getting to the semi-finals before ending their day. Knoxville went 2-1 in pool play beating the Eagles 15-21, 21-12, and 15-10. The Panthers then swept by Perry 21-5 and 21-14 before falling to Iowa Falls in three games. Pella Christian along with its loss to Knoxville beat Perry 21-7, and 21-11 then defeated Iowa Falls 21-18 and 21-17. In the semi-finals, Knoxville was swept by eventual meet champion Union in two sets, while Pella Christian had to go three sets in both of its consolation matches beating ADM 21-16, 18-21 and 15-6 then Albia 16-21, 21-18, and 15-8. Knoxville will have ten days off before playing in the class 4A regional semi-final hosting either Carlisle or Oskaloosa while Pella Christian will begin class 2A regional play hosting I-35 on Tuesday.
