The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday. The board heard a presentation from the Food Youth Initiative. Verlin Goodyk, Brent Hanna, Mary Hanna, and Ann Fields shared that it was a successful year, and 8,400 meals were served. They expanded service to Bussey, Melcher Dallas, and Lovilla during the year. A special presentation was made by Ms. Mary Strawberry, who visits elementary classrooms every year, explaining where food comes from, and teaching students about healthy eating.

The board approved an overnight trip request for the Dance Team to stay in Des Moines and compete at the State Dance and Drill Team Championships December 4th through the 6th. They discussed policies regarding purpose of non-instructional services and business services as well as reviewed policies regarding objectives of buildings and sites and principles and objectives for community relations.
