A Des Moines man was arrested Saturday following the report of a shoplifter at the Knoxville Walmart. According to court documents just before noon Saturday, law enforcement officers responded to the call of a shoplifter at Walmart in Knoxville. A Walmart employee told officers the suspect had left in a black Chevy Blazer. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers found the stolen Walmart property inside the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Byron Geppert of Des Moines was arrested. During further investigation officers found what appeared to be meth, and prescription drugs. Geppert admitted to smoking a bowl of methamphetamine earlier in the day and also said  that he may have marijuana in his system as well. Geppert was charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense, a class D felony, operating a vehicle under the influence 2nd offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, a serious misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor and theft 5th degree, a simple misdemeanor.
