The PCM defense held the high powered Benton offense in check all game and came away from Van Horne with a 34-8 dominating victory over the Bobcats last night in the first round of the class 2A playoffs as heard on kniakrls.com. The Mustangs struck first with an 81 yard touchdown pass from Sage Burns to Gatlin Boell to set the tone for the game. An Aiden Anderson 22 yard scamper to pay dirt gave the Mustangs a 14-0 lead going into halftime and PCM cruised from there. Burns would add two more scores plus Anderson would get another in the second half to salt the game away. Coach Greg Bonnett told KRLS Sports his team was prepared for everything Benton offered. The Mustangs are eight-and-two and will make the journey to OABCIG next Friday in the quarterfinals.
