The $3.5 million Warren County Justice Center bond referendum failed to reach the 60% threshold and was not passed by Warren County voters despite the majority voting in approval of the measure. Unofficially, 6,916 votes were tallied with 55% (3,845) voting in approval of the measure, while 45% (3,071) voted against. Results are unofficial, as all remaining absentee ballots will need to be counted before the election is officially certified.

The Indianola City Council will have two new members in its ranks after Tuesday’s election, with one incumbent keeping a spot. Councilman John Parker will keep his seat in Ward 1 after receiving 55% of the votes, while Gwen Schroder received 56% in Ward 3, and Heather Hulen took the At-Large seat with 56%.

Hulen tells KNIA News she appreciates all the people who went out to vote, and the people that supported her, and she looks forward to serving Indianola in the at-large seat on the council.

There were four spots open for the Indianola School Board, with seven candidates running for all at-large seats. Rob Keller, Ben Metzger, Donna Kreamer, and Sue Wilson were the top four vote-getters.
