Voter participation is up in Indianola and Warren County compared to the previous city council and school board elections held in 2017, but are still significantly below the midterm 2018 elections. In 2019, 7,077 votes were cast in all of Warren County, making up for a voter participation rate of 19.67%. Voting on the Indianola City Council elections in 2019 and 2017 saw:

2019 – 2,849 for the At-Large seat (+31% from 2017)
2017 – 2,175 for the At-Large seat

The Indianola School Board also saw an increase in voter participation. The number of ballots cast is not yet official for 2019 but an increase in participation for the election is clear.

2019 – 11,236 total votes, with seven candidates for four spots
2017 – 635 ballots cast with 1,608 votes, with four candidates for three spots

The 2018 midterm election had 24,329 votes cast in Warren County, with a voter participation rate of 67.64%.
