Pleasantville running back Cale Anthony finished the regular season as the rushing yardage leader in Class 1A. Despite missing the playoffs, the senior still tops the leaderboard after two weeks of playoff games with 1,793 yards. Cade Bennett of Dike-New Hartford has moved into second place with 1,677 yards, but the Wolverines lost in Friday’s quarterfinal round.

The next player on the leaderboard who is still alive in the playoffs is Logan Meyer of West Lyon, who sits in 11th place with 1,138 yards. That’s 655 yards short of Anthony’s mark. With a maximum of two games remaining, it is unlikely that Anthony will surrender the title of rushing leader for the 2019 season.
