Helping Hands Food Pantry in Knoxville is asking the public for help as they look to fill their annual holiday baskets. The baskets, which are put together to help provide a holiday meal to less fortunate families throughout Marion County are short of supplies including turkeys which is the centerpiece of the basket according to Chuck Galeazzi from Helping Hands. Galeazzzi tells KNIA/KRLS News anyone who wishes to donate food or a turkey for the holiday baskets has until the 21st to do so. Galeazzi says people can just pull around to the alley behind helping hands and drop food off. He says it’s always magical to see the donations come in for people that really need it. Galeazzi says if the pantry receives enough turkeys and food, all the baskets can be put together the weekend of the 22nd and will then be delivered to families on the 26th. For more information or to donate a turkey contact Chuck Galeazzi at Helping Hands by calling (641) 842-6933.
